The Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil has applied for Associate Membership to CO-LaN and the CO-LaN Management Board has approved the application on February 12, 2009.
Welcome to the Fédéral University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) and to Professor Argimiro SECCHI who will represent UFRJ within CO-LaN!
Professor SECCHI works within the Institute Alberto Luiz Coimbra of Graduate Research in Engineering (COPPE) at the Chemical Engineering Program (PEG) of UFRJ. Professor SECCHI, together with Rafael de Pelegrini Soares, has spearheaded the development of EMSO (Environment for Modeling Simulation and Optimization) process simulator. EMSO is the simulation software of the ALSOC project. EMSO supports the CAPE-OPEN numerical interfaces and the implementation of both the Thermodynamic & Physical Properties interfaces and the Unit Operations interfaces is planned for the near future.
