Dr Sergej BLAGOV, co-leader of the Thermo Special Interest Group, sent today the draft of the Manager interface specification, to Dr Bill BARRETT, leader of the Methods & Tools Special Interest Group.
The Manager interface specification has been actively developed by Thermo SIG since May 2022 and till the end of October 2022. From the start it was considered a Common interface specification because it can serve several purposes in various areas of the CAPE-OPEN standard. While its immediate use is to replace and enhance the Property Package Manager interface specification described within the Thermodynamic and Physical Properties interface specification at version 1.1, it may also be used to manage Unit Operations or Flowsheet Monitoring Components. Hence the consideration that it is a Common interface specification. Methods & Tools SIG is responsible for all the CAPE-OPEN Common interface specifications.
Methods & Tools SIG will now supervise the development of the Manager Common interface specification, and will review the specification before deciding if it is fit to be submitted to a Request For Comments to the CO-LaN membership.
The above follows the plans for Thermo SIG and Methods & Tools SIG outlined at the CAPE-OPEN 2022 Annual Meeting for both SIGs.
