At the CAPE-OPEN 2020 Annual Meeting, the successful completion of Phase II of the COBIA development project at CO-LaN was much highlighted. COBIA is a CAPE-OPEN dedicated middleware which is meant to be multi-platform, independent of commercial products, more efficient than Microsoft COM, providing a better error handling, …
Completion of Phase II means that the distribution packages for the COBIA Runtime and for the COBIA Software Development Kit (SDK) have been released. As a complement to the COBIA SDK, AmsterCHEM has released today the COBIA Class Wizard which is compatible with Visual Studio 2015, 2017 as well as 2019.
The COBIA SDK contains a C++ code generator for COBIA-based applications. This code-generator is a command line executable. The COBIA Class Wizard is facilitating further the development of COBIA-based applications by using the COBIA code generator from within Visual Studio. The Visual Studio Add-in creates a skeleton code with interfaces and methods. The actions in each method need to be coded by the developer.
See here how to obtain the Add-in from within Visual Studio 2017.
