Here is a summary of what took place in July 2021.
On July 31, CO-LaN has released a new set of installers for the CAPE-OPEN Type Libraries and Primary Interop Assemblies. This new set (version 2.1.1) is the first one to contain the interface definitions corresponding to the Flowsheet Monitoring and Custom Data interface specifications, paving the way to their implementations in process modelling and simulation software. All software developers using CAPE-OPEN for interoperability are invited to use version 2.1.1 of the CAPE-OPEN TLB/PIA installers.
On July 15, CO-LaN has released a new maintenance version of COBIA 1.2. This 7th maintenance release resolves two new issues pointed out by developers and end-users of COBIA-based Process Modeling Components. It shows the commitment of CO-LaN to maintain COBIA 1.2. You are all welcome to download the COBIA Software Development Kit and to make use of it for the development of your COBIA-based applications.
COBIA Phase III is progressing: the design phase for the marshaller interfaces has been completed as per the review made by the Methods & Tools Special Interest Group. CO-LaN Management Board has approved implementation of the proposed design and the objective is to demonstrate how a generic marshaller works at the CAPE-OPEN 2021 Annual Meeting.
The CAPE-OPEN 2021 Annual Meeting is scheduled for October 27-28 as a virtual conference. A registration form is now available. Please use it at your earliest convenience. You are welcome to propose presentations.
CO-LaN thanks all the Associate Members in groups A and B that have committed resources to CO-LaN’s operations. These additional resources largely support the technical activities mentioned above.
