Here is a summary of what took place in January 2023.
Activities of Special Interest Groups
Unit Special Interest Group (SIG) met on January 11 and prepared answers to comments made by the CO-LaN membership on the revised Petroleum Fractions interface specification. UNIT SIG gave also a first go at defining compliance tests for Unit Operations.
Thermo SIG met three times in January and progressed especially the Errata & Clarifications on the ICapeThermoCompounds interface of the Thermodynamic and Physical Properties interface specification as well as the list of compliance and best practice tests on implementations of this interface.
Methods & Tools SIG met three times in January and worked on COBIA Phase II maintenance, on COBIA Phase III development and on CAPE-OPEN versioning, this last topic addressed in collaboration with the Interoperability Special Interest Group.
COBIA middleware
No maintenance version of COBIA 1.2 was released in January. However, the contractual arrangements with AmsterCHEM for maintaining COBIA over 2023 have been agreed to by CO-LaN Management Board on January 18.
CO-LaN Test Suite
The contracts with AmsterCHEM, Céondo GmbH and MR Woodman Consulting Ltd have all been signed on January 11. Work on CO-LaN Test Suite is on stand-by for the moment but the project expects to receive soon sufficient input from Thermo SIG to launch the implementation of all the compliance and best practice tests to be run on Property Packages.
