The department currently includes 21 faculty members and several adjunct professors. The student body includes approximately 200 undergraduates, 90 PhD and 100 Master’s students (MChE, MS), with 25 postdoctoral research fellows and visitors. The department awards 60-70 BS degrees, 50 MChE/MS degrees, and 20 PhD degrees each year. All faculty are engaged in research and teaching.
CAPE-OPEN related publications and works:
CMU participated in the 1st CAPE-OPEN US Conference held in August 2004 in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Within DynoPC, Y.D. LANG made IPOPT a CAPE-OPEN Process Modelling Component (PMC) implementing the MINLP CAPE-OPEN interface specification. This implementation was tested within the CAPE-OPEN Tester element dedicated to this category of PMCs. DynoPC implements a CAPE-OPEN Equation Set Object socket and is able to resolve with IPOPT, systems expressed as Equation Set Objects.
