Nimir O. Elbashir, Mahmoud M. El-Halwagi, Ioannis G. Economou, Kenneth R. Hall have today published a comprehensive review of the current status and challenges for natural gas and shale gas production, treatment and monetization technologies: Natural Gas Processing from Midstream to Downstream presents an international perspective on the production and monetization of shale gas and natural gas. The authors review techno-economic assessments of the midstream and downstream natural gas processing technologies.
Among the 21 chapters comprising the book, chapter 3 makes explicit reference to CAPE-OPEN as enabling the use of advanced thermodynamic models in most simulators.
The co-authors of chapter 3 are either from the National Technical University of Athens or from EQUINOR ASA. National Technical University of Athens is not a member of CO-LaN, and has already published work referring to CAPE-OPEN.
CO-LaN thanks these two organizations for their recognition of CAPE-OPEN contribution to giving easy access to thermodynamic modeling of natural gas and gas condensate mixtures.
While not a member of CO-LaN, EQUINOR participated recently to the CAPE-OPEN 2018 Annual Meeting, sharing its views and its experiences on CAPE-OPEN.
