The CAPE-OPEN 2002 award was presented to Michael Halloran (Aspentech), Daniel Pinol (Hyprotech) and Richard Szczepanski (Infochem) on February 4, 2003 during the CO-LaN Annual General Meeting held at BP in Sunbury.
This award recognizes their fruitful cooperation, across organizational borders to achieve interoperability through CAPE-OPEN and in the development of version 1.1 of the Thermodynamic and Physical Properties interface specification.
Their work showed how competing commercial companies could collaborate constructively on non-proprietary matters without compromising their commercial interests. This type of collaboration was essential to the progress CO-LaN has made in delivering interoperability and will continue to be essential in the future.
