The Interoperability SIG met from 9 am till 10 am European Central Time.
Agenda
Maintenance and development of CO-LaN software tools
Participants
Malcolm WOODMAN, Michael HALLORAN (Contractor to CO-LaN), Michel PONS (Contractor to CO-LaN as Chief Technology Officer)
Highlights
Michel PONS reports on current status of COBIA, and especially on current outstanding issues, i.e. threading model and persistence. A joint meeting between the Interoperability SIG and the Methods & Tools SIG is tentatively proposed on February 7 with topics such as:
- Develop full test plan (acceptance tests & release tests, plus sufficient testing to authorise Phase 3
- Identify areas where Michael’s expertise is required to complete steps in the test plan
CAPE-OPEN Type Libraries and Primary Interop Assemblies installers
At the CAPE-OPEN 2017 Annual Meeting, feedback was provided on using these tools. Based on this, Michael HALLORAN has indentified that a “per user” install does not update the GAC. They could be installed in any random directory. Solution to be investigated.
As a test of how to deal with versioning of the CAPE-OPEN IDL, Michael HALLORAN has developed a v1.2 Type Library Installer, including the Flowsheet Monitoring IDL This v1.2 Type Library Installer demonstrates that CO-LaN can manage “additive changes” in a forward compatible way. Further developments awaits outcome of versioning discussions – joint meeting with Methods & Tools SIG.
Michel PONS has provided Linde with samples of specification documents for elements of the current Tester Suite. This is to progress the decision progress of establishing a Certification SIG. Various considerations are made by the Interoperability SIG, listing a number of points to be covered in the definition of the Certification Suite software meant to replace the current and old Tester Suite.
CAPE-OPEN Logging and Testing Tool (COLTT)
Michael HALLORAN will test installation of 64-bit version, to investigate missing system file (track issue #209). The Roadmap document for COLTT needs to be merge with COLTT specification document since the two documents have a large overlay.
Next meeting is scheduled on January 29, 2018.
Any CO-LaN member with interest in the development of the set of software tools offered by CO-LaN is welcome to join. Please contact Malcolm WOODMAN, leader of the Interoperability SIG for further information.
