Abstract: “Proper orthogonal decomposition (POD) is an attractive way to obtain nonlinear low-dimensional models. This article reports on the automatization of the mentioned reduction method. An automatic procedurefor the reduction of differential algebraic systems is presented, which is implemented in the modelingand simulation environment ProMoT/Diana…”

Comments: the authors developed their automatic procedure for the model reduction in ProMoT/Diana. It is interesting to note that in Diana model equations are implemented as a CAPE-OPEN Equation Set Object. While other implementations of the Equation Set Object are known (gPROMS, CHEOPS, …), its actual usage is reassuring on the usefulness of this interface design.
