On September 28, 2011, within the CO-LaN Annual General Meeting, Malcolm WOODMAN, BP representative in CO-LaN and President of CO-LaN, presented the CAPE-OPEN 2010 Award to Bertrand BRAUNSCHWEIG in recognition of his vision for CAPE-OPEN, his drive and dedication in establishing CO-LaN and his leadership as President of CO-LaN from 2001 to 2004.

Bertrand went on to the many memories he has of CAPE-OPEN and CO-LaN, through good and bad times. A sample of these: his background is information technology and, prior to entering the CAPE-OPEN projects, he had no knowledge of process simulation per se. On the flight to Manchester for his first CAPE-OPEN related meeting, he went through the PRO II User Manual at full speed to get level with the other partners.
