CEPIMA is a Research group of the Department of Chemical Engineering of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, working in the area of computer modelling and optimisation of Chemical Processes (CPI), including the application and development of artificial intelligence supporting techniques and software.
The CEPIMA research group has grown steadily and presently consists of 5 full-time lecturers and 22 full-time researchers. There are 15 PhD Thesis underway related to kinetics, process design and operation, with a substantial number of publications in reputed international journals (over 100 publications in the last 5 years).
As of January 1, 2021, UPC is an Associate Member in Group C as per the bylaws adopted on October 15, 2020.
CAPE-OPEN related activities:
UPC was a partner in the Global CAPE-OPEN project and a founding member of CO-LaN. UPC was an approved Consultant within the first Consultancy Service scheme organized by CAPE-OPEN.
May 2002: UPC presented at ESCAPE 12 the CAPE-OPEN interface specification for Parameter Estimation and Data Reconciliation that they developed and prototyped within the Global CAPE-OPEN project.
February 2004: Luis PUIGJANER attended the 1st CAPE-OPEN European Conference in Skopau, Germany.
May 2011: UPC presented at ESCAPE-21 (Thessaloniki, Greece) on “Ontological framework for enterprise-wide integrated decision-making at operational level” where CAPE-OPEN is briefly mentioned.
