SINTEF is an independent, not-for-profit research institute. SINTEF is the largest independent research organisation in Scandinavia. SINTEF Petroleum Research concentrates on improving the profitable, environmentally friendly and safe mapping and recovery of national and international petroleum resources.
As of January 1, 2021, SINTEF is an Associate Member in Group C as per as the bylaws adopted on October 15, 2020.

Kjell Arne JACOBSEN has represented SINTEF in CO-LaN from March 2005 and till July 2016.
Dr Olaf Trygve BERGLIHN is representing SINTEF in CO-LaN since August 2016. Olaf is actively working on the development of software incorporating custom thermodynamic models and unit operations models that can be used in the typical CAPE-OPEN aware simulators. For gas absorption, SINTEF has an in-house flowsheeting package with many custom unit operations and thermodynamic models, CO2SIM.
