Presentation made by Peter BANKS (BP) at the 1st CAPE-OPEN European Meeting on February 13; 2004 in Skopau, Germany.
The presentation aimed at proposing a Consultancy Service scheme in order to keep active the community of CAPE-OPEN experts at the end of the European funded Global CAPE-OPEN project while enticing additional software vendors and developers to adopt CAPE-OPEN.
The proposal was initially made by BP after consulting with other Full Members and Aspentech. This scheme, adopted by CO-LaN Management Board, was the first attempt by CO-LaN to subsidize CAPE-OPEN software developement through access to experts. It proved successful for a while, especially relying on the expertise that Aspentech was able to deliver at that time.
