The CAPE-OPEN 2021 Annual Meeting is one month ahead of us, scheduled for October 27-28 as a virtual conference. CO-LaN is proud to present there contributions from AmsterCHEM, Georgia Tech, IFP New Energy, Politecnico di Milano, SINTEF, University of Oslo. The Methods & Tools and the Interoperability Special Interest Groups will present their annual activity reports and contractors to CO-LaN will present and demonstrate progress in both COBIA Phase III and the Self-testing suite development projects. The Annual General Meeting of CO-LaN members is also part of the program. We believe an interesting program has been put together with still more coming. See the preliminary program on our website. CO-LaN welcomes University of Oslo as a new Corporate Associate Member with David CAMERON as representative. Jean-Pierre BELAUD has been designated by Toulouse INP-ENSIACET to replace Prof. Xavier JOULIA as its representative in CO-LaN.
On September 23, CO-LaN has released a new set of installers for the CAPE-OPEN Type Libraries and Primary Interop Assemblies. This new set (version 2.1.2) is an update to the version released at the end of July 2021. All software developers using CAPE-OPEN for interoperability are invited to use version 2.1.2 of the CAPE-OPEN TLB/PIA installers.
On September 29, CO-LaN has issued to its members a Request For Comments on the current draft version of the Chemical Reactions interface specification. The new set of installers mentioned above paves the way to the distributions of extensions to version 1.1 of the CAPE-OPEN standard. The new version of the Chemical Reactions interface specification is such an extension and has been developed by the Thermo Special Interest Group.
On September 30, CO-LaN has issued to its members a Request For Comments on a new version of the Petroleum Fractions interface specification developed by the UNIT Special Interest Group. This new specification will also be considered as an extension to version 1.1 of the CAPE-OPEN standard. Both Requests For Comments will end on December 1, 2021.
