Here is a summary of what took place in March 2022.
The beta release of what will be the CAPE-OPEN Tester Suite version 1.0 was made on February 28 to a selected set of organizations that mentioned their interest in reviewing the software when it was presented live at the CAPE-OPEN 2021 Annual Meeting. One of these organizations, ProSim SA, has already provided very valuable feedback and CO-LaN will soon move to a new phase of the CAPE-OPEN Tester Suite development to address remaining issues and to increase functionality.
The Methods & Tools Special Interest Group is progressing on the specification of tests for the CAPE-OPEN common interfaces, so that the CAPE-OPEN Tester Suite may soon cover more aspects of CAPE-OPEN implementation.
A maintenance release of COBIA 1.2 (release 1.2.0.9) was made on March 31, 2022. CO-LaN urges organizations having adopted COBIA 1.2 to review the issues tackled by this release and see if they need to immediately adopt it. CO-LaN recommends release 1.2.0.9 to be used.
The Thermo Special Interest Group is addressing the many comments received on the current draft of the revised Chemical Reactions interface specification. Some modifications will undoubtedly be brought to the interface design, showing the importance of peer review for CAPE-OPEN specifications. CO-LaN thanks all members who are involving themselves in such reviews.
At the end of a thorough process, CO-LaN has decided to contract Mrs Florence KUIJL to conduct most of the administrative tasks within CO-LaN. Please welcome Florence who will be your regular contact starting April 1, 2022.
CO-LaN welcomes ECA Engineering Aps among its membership. Its application was approved by CO-LaN Management Board on March 11, 2022.
