Highlights
Methods & Tools Special Interest Group went through comments left by its members within the document describing the COBIA Threading Models and related points that forms the basis of the presentation made by Jasper van BATEN at the CAPE-OPEN 2022 Annual Meeting.
The vocabulary used was revised in order to be made more precise, and more general at the same time. For example the terms “Client” and “Service” were more carefully defined in the glossary, to better reflect all situations encountered.
Section 4.1 that deals with the use, in COM, of threads by Process Modelling Environments, was revised for clarification purposes. End of section 3 (General Threading Guidelines for CAPE-OPEN Applications) was also rewritten. Better distinction was made between what refers to in-process and out-of-process marshalling.
Next conference call is scheduled for October 4, 2022.
