The Methods & Tools Special Interest Group and the Interoperability Special Interest Group held today a joint meeting from 5 pm till 6 pm Central European Summer Time.
Agenda
- Templates for Testing Procedures
- Versioning scheme
Participants
U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (represented by Bill BARRETT), AmsterCHEM (represented by Jasper van BATEN), Bryan Research & Engineering (represented by Michael HLAVINKA), Malcolm WOODMAN, Michel PONS (contractor to CO-LaN as Chief Technology Officer).
Highlights
- Templates for Testing Procedures
The participants reviewed the status of the document containing the Testing Procedures for the Identification Common Interface. This document was developed by the Methods & Tools SIG to provide templates for documenting the testing procedures for other CAPE-OPEN interface specifications.
The participants agreed that the specifications of compliance tests are complete on the implementation of the Identification Common Interface on any Primary Process Modelling Component (e.g., Property Package, Unit Operation). Nine tests have been defined and documented under a common template. Meanwhile, specifications of compliance tests are incomplete on the implementation of the Identification Common Interface on any secondary CAPE-OPEN object (e.g., Parameter, Port).
As well the specifications of tests of best practices are still incomplete with respect to the Identification Common Interface.
While necessary for CAPE-OPEN PMCs such as Unit Operations, these tests on secondary CAPE-OPEN objects are not really required for testing a Process Modelling Component implementing the Thermodynamic and Physical Properties interfaces. How best practices are dealt with by the Tester Suite has not been completely frozen yet.
Therefore the participants agreed that the current version of the document containing the Testing Procedures for the Identification Common Interface can be used to document the compliance testing procedures for the Thermodynamic and Physical Properties Interfaces.
- Versioning scheme
Developed by Michel PONS, the current version (1.03) of the document defining the versioning scheme to be applied to the CAPE-OPEN standard and to its artefacts, is open for comments within the Interoperability SIG and the Methods & Tools SIG.
Next meeting is scheduled for September 6, 2022.
